Da Vinci's Inquest

The skinny

Bento Box was introduced to Haddock Entertainment at the beginning of Season 4 of its critically acclaimed Canadian television drama Da Vinci's Inquest.

In a trial by fire, Bento Box was charged with refreshing the show's online presence with just two weeks to the season premier.

What resulted was a cross-media collaboration that took advantage of Bento Box's ability to design and coordinate projects of virtually any scope.

Da Vinci's Web site

We redesigned the Da Vinci's Inquest Web site, creating an imagery-rich experience that dovetailed into the show, while keeping file sizes small and without resorting to heavy Flash use. Our streamlined message board system promoted dialog and created a community among new and seasoned fans.

The Coroner's Office

We created a special behind-the-scenes showcase, coordinating everything from the photo shoot to story boards, promotional plans and team and asset management.

With the Blue Note style as initial inspiration, Bento Box designed a city billboard and poster campaign. The show's visual identity has evolved over time, and Bento Box has been on board for new and redesigned poster and billboard campaigns for several years.

Da Vinci's Inquest: The Sessions

Haddock Entertainment asked Bento Box to art direct and produce the packaging for the show's soundtrack CD. We also produced promotional materials for the soundtrack's Web and print promotional campaign.

We designed posters for a subversive campaign that brought Dom's rise through the political ranks in seasons 5-7 to the streets of Canadian cities.

Chris Haddock, the creative head of Haddock Entertainment, has a passion for jazz and Saul Bass's classic Hitchcock imagery.

Haddock Entertainment had been operating without a visual identity for many years when Chris came to Bento Box for a reinvention. We answered with a comprehensive package of print, Web and creative pitch collateral.
